In the future, ownership will be recorded as an owner/object pair in a distributed database, or blockchain. For example, vehicle titles will be recorded in a blockchain instead of printed on paper. Ownership transfers will create “immutable provenance” – a digital chain of ownership. Ownership of all sorts of things will be recorded in a blockchain instead of a traditional centralized database.
Knowa will be among the first companies to register Digital Certificates of Authenticity (COA) for physical objects into a blockchain. We call these Certificates of Authenticity "Ownership Tokens."
